Ally Law bolsters South American presence

Ally Law bolsters South American presence

Hong Kong, 11 September 2020: Colin Cohen has hailed Ally Law’s further expansion in South America as a key step towards comprehensive global coverage for the legal services organisation.

“We are delighted to announce three new member firms in Chile, Colombia and Peru, meaning we are now present in seven countries in the region. Enhancing our numbers in South America has been a priority in recent years and it is fair to say we now have solid representation the length and breadth of the American continent,” said Colin, Chairman of Ally Law’s Expansion Committee and Senior Partner of Boase Cohen & Collins.

Arteaga, Gorziglia in Santiago, Chile has 19 lawyers and specialises in corporate and M&A, energy and projects while Cuberos Cortés Gutiérrez in Bogota, Colombia has a diverse workload which includes corporate and M&A, immigration, tax and real estate matters. The third new arrival is Santiváñez Abogados in Lima, Peru with 27 lawyers and a burgeoning reputation for its work in energy, natural resources, power and projects.

“We have added 12 new firms in the past 18 months, giving us more than 70 dotted around the world, which means our organisation has grown more than 30% in the past five years. We are still pursuing expansion in Africa and emerging markets in Asia such as Cambodia and Laos,” added Colin.

“Having more members not only increases referral business between firms, it also makes us a viable and cost-effective alternative to multinational law firms since we combine global coverage with deep knowledge of local markets. The future for Ally Law is bright indeed.”
